4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (July 1)

Ups...

4. Dial It Back, Bucks!

The Young Bucks
AEW

Onto the good things Rampage served up.

The Young Bucks had the most un-Young Bucks match ever vs. Yoshi-Hashi and Hirooki Goto. Matt and Nick Jackson visibly restrained themselves and dialled down on most of their crazy spots so it'd suit the New Japan pair's style better. That, being honest, made for a better match.

Hashi and Goto were never going to have the same kind of bout with The Bucks that...say, FTR or Jurassic Express might. No, they work a much more deliberate pace, so Matt and Nick pumping the breaks just a little bit was appreciated. That shows just how good these dudes are.

The Bucks also gave Yoshi and Hirooki a ton throughout, which helped give the bout a more competitive edge than it had any right to have. Then, because they can, the reigning AEW Tag-Team Champs showed off some flash during the finish.
