4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 13)

Downs...

4. Wrestling’s Latest Unnecessary Faction

Billy Gunn Club The Acclaimed
AEW

Right, here's the deal: AEW's new union between The Acclaimed and The Gunn Club deserves a chance, but did the product really need yet another faction hanging around? It's all so random too. Nobody has stopped to explain why these lads are suddenly besties, or what they hope to achieve.

Billy's speech had splashes of comedy, and they're clearly taking the p*ss, but getting faux-excited about working an upcoming bout on Dark: Elevation isn't that smart. It super-weird to knowingly crap all over your own programming, but that's what AEW did here.

Why? Just...why?

Previously, Anthony Bowen and Max Caster would've been gunning (ahem) for the AEW Tag-Team Titles. In theory, the same could be said for Austin and Colten. Now, however, they're on the same side. Both duos can't be champs, so the whole exercise is pointless.
