4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 21)

2. These Teams Have Chemistry

Max Caster Tony Nese Acclaimed

Speaking of wrestlers who worked well together.

OK, so AEW burned through that Acclaimed vs. Varsity Athletes feud like some 10-year old kid playing around in WWE 2K22's Universe Mode, but there was enough in the opener to suggest these teams could do great things if they're given the chance.

It's a pity that Josh Woods and Tony Nese look like such losers already too, because they're fun heel foil for Max Caster and Anthony Bowens. There was way more juice in this rivalry than Tony Khan let on - this should've been running for at least a few months.

Here's hoping Tony was watching and enjoyed the match, 'cause the Acclaimed/Varsity Athletes combo could do so much better on the pay-per-view stage. Christ, just keep the program rolling with a Mark Sterling promo and book a rematch for Full Gear, or something.
