4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Road Rager (June 17)

2. Dante Martin’s Performance

Dante Martin Jon Moxley
AEW

Dante Martin is looking more and more like a star-in-the-making against top names like Jon Moxley. His first forays into the ring against AEW's biggest workers were fun, but they felt more like glorified enhancement bouts than anything else. This...this felt a bit different.

The flyer held up his end of the bargain.

AEW's producers did well to pluck some clips of Martin crash-landing onto Mox from the archives, which gave this match some much-needed context. The story that Dante is getting closer to finally scoring a career-changing win over someone the standing of Jon is very welcome indeed.

The promotion will have to pull the trigger on Martin eventually - he's not exactly Eddie Kingston on the mic, but he can talk and will only get better. Besides, he's shown enough in-ring to suggest that the future is incredibly bright.

Check this match out.
