4 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Nov 18)

2. The Ascension + Gable & Jordan = Success

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSiiCGXLy2k Speaking of future tag team elite, Gable & Jordan have been the hottest young prospects for a while now. For the last month, they've consistently put on the match of the night, whether it was their showing against Baron Corbin and Rhyno at TakeOver Respect, their astonishingly good match against Ciampa and Gargano, or last night's offering: a stellar bout against NXT royalty, The Ascension. Konnor and Viktor returned to the land they once ruled to put over Gable & Jordan, and what a sweet homecoming it was. Partially born of parental pride, and partially of anger at how dreadfully The Ascension have been booked on the main roster, the NXT universe welcomed the two men with a rapturous ovation. Almost every strike was greeted with a loud 'Ja' from the crowd, and considering that they've also lost none of their love for the World's Greatest Tag Team Tribute Band, the NXT crowd were electric throughout. It's time for me to eat some humble pie now. Last week, I called the Ascension rubbish and that they almost deserved the treatment they were getting on Raw and Smackdown. Well, they proved me wrong last night. This was the best The Ascension has been in well over a year. Every move they made was crisper, and had more passion behind it. They ran faster and jumped higher. Against any team other than Gable and Jordan, they would have been dominant fan favourites, but G&J would not be denied. It was a stellar encounter. The Ascension should stay. Don't go, boys, not back to the main roster. There's nothing for you there.
