4 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Backlash 2025 (Results & Review)

2. Dominik Shows Out

Dominik Mysterio
WWE

Dominik Mysterio has been a guilty pleasure for WWE fans for quite some time now, but he has slowly and sneakily getting better in the ways that could make him more of a mainstay after this Judgment Day run eventually ends.

Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship match against Penta Saturday provided glimpses of that future, with Dirty Dom turning in one of his better singles performances to date. He matched Penta with running headscissors, nailed a diving tornado DDT to the floor and kept pace with his challenger throughout the contest. Dominik also survived a Mexican Destroyer on the apron before picking up the completely clean win.

Obviously, that’s nowhere near true, as the entire Judgment Day and El Grande Americano interfered on Dom’s behalf to put Penta away. Still, Mysterio held his own here and this was a perfectly fine, fun little match.
