4 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (12 July - Results & Review)
1. No Need To Book This Again Part II
Here's another rematch that just wasn't necessary.
A-Town Down Under losing to DIY in 7 minutes achieved nothing. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller already have a split story going on. That's been established, and miscommunication between the former good buddies caused them to lose the tag belts to Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano last time out. We get it.
The tag title loss should've been a landmark moment for the pair, but WWE decided to rinse and repeat on Friday. Why? Beating A-Town didn't even make DIY look better than they did going in. They didn't need this win - they needed to spin out into a new story and let Theory question Waller on the mic.
Yes, patience is important, but not when things are repeated over and over just to fill time. You didn't need to watch one minute of this redo. It was shorter, less-exciting and didn't come close to the original. Waller and Theory shouldn't have been handed this automatic rematch unless something new was going to happen. End of story.
