4 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (13 Dec - Results & Review)
3. A Michin Mistake?

Everyone deserves the chance to shine when the time is right, but...read the room, please. Friday's first semi final result could be a bit of an own goal from WWE. That sounds brutal, but you've got to call 'em how you see 'em and all that. Fans were chanting for Tiffany Stratton throughout the match with Michin, so any bid to make the latter an underdog babyface worth rooting for fell flat as a pancake.
A pancake, bah gawd.
Stratton also just comes across as a much, much, much bigger star than Mia Yim generally. Honestly, your writer thinks this Women's United States prize is Chelsea Green’s title to take, but it would’ve meant more had she beaten someone like Tiffany in the finals due to backfiring interference from Nia Jax and Candice LeRae, or something like that. It's cool that Hunter wants to circle back to the rivalry between Chelsea and Michin, but it doesn't look like the fanbase is too interested in it as a tournament final. Basically, one can see Green (the heel) getting bigger cheers than Michin at SNME.
They botched the finish a bit here too. Stratton went for her Prettiest Moonsault Ever, but Michin rolled into harm’s way rather than evading and the announcers tried to palm it off as Tiff missing. She definitely didn’t. It looked a little messy and unfortunate considering that flubbed spot let directly into the finish.
Dunno, Michin vs. Green feels less than compared to Stratton vs. Green somehow. Let's see how the final shakes out, but this was a little rough near the end.
