4 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 28)
2. They Didn’t Really Move The Story On
Right, some housekeeping is needed here: Bray Wyatt's nervous, almost rambling promos as the "real" Bray are engaging. The story also deserves time to breathe, and it's perhaps unrealistic to expect that WWE will book something major with Wyatt every single week.
That'd explain why this was a week of treading water.
'Uncle Howdy' didn't even really say anything of note when he popped up on the screen either. Then, SmackDown abruptly ended and left most wondering what the point of having Bray's segment close the show was. That just didn't feel very meaningful at all.
It was obvious as soon as Wyatt came out for promo time that nothing was going to happen too. WWE failed to elaborate on the idea of Bray blaming fans for "horrible, horrible things" that are about to happen, and it was like they'd pressed the reset button.
