Anyone can credibly make the argument that Stephanie McMahon deserves induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. She has been a central figure in the company for nearly three decades, both as a performer and an executive. She certainly is above the “Koko B. Ware” standard.

BUT… on a show where her husband took center stage basking in the glow of yet another “new era” for his company, there was Undertaker revealing to Stephanie that she was the first inductee for the Hall of Fame in seven months time. That might be a record for the earliest announcement of an induction.

It comes down to timing. When coupled with the opening segment, it feels like a lot of navel-gazing and self-congratulatory nonsense. Why did this need to be announced on this night, rather than on Raw? Hell, if they wanted to make it meaningful, they should have done it at WWE Evolution 2.

On its own, this probably just would be a groan.
