4 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (July 7)

1. Scorpio Sky vs. Serpentico

Last week's Dark saw The Young Bucks enter a generous performance against Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler, choosing to elevate rather than decimate their overmatched opponents. The result was a fun, fast-moving, and action-heavy tag better than many would have expected while browsing the card.

Scorpio Sky took the same route against the talented Serpentico last night. This was a notch or two above the Bucks' match, though, as Serpentico was given plenty of time to showcase his explosive high-flying style against somebody on the verge of another big singles push, getting lots of offense in during a bout that's genuinely worth going out of your way to see - particularly if you value hot action above all else.

While Sky's victory was never in doubt, believable nearfalls led to an effective conclusion as Scorp hit the TKO for the victory. Serpentico came away from this greater than when he walked in and Sky looked good for fending off such a game opponent too.
