4 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 20)

3. So Much For That

Big Damo is far too good to be eating a 90-second loss on his AEW debut.

Taz calling him "a big thick, barrel-chested hairy man from Ireland" was borderline comedic too. That line should've been whipped from the edit before Rampage aired, but somebody should've had the sense to point out that this match wasn't even necessary in the first place.

Shawn Spears' story is calling for him to beat "giants" before facing Wardlow, but there wasn't a lot of size difference between he and Damo. So, it must be asked why Tony Khan thought sticking a skilled newbie in there as the sacrificial lamb was the right call when it was never going to be that impressive.

Damo showed enough during this cameo to prove Khan's booking wrong as well. Again, this is worth saying twice: WWE's former Killian Dain is far too accomplished a worker to be doing this sort of thing. He deserves better. Much, much better.
