4 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling Genesis 2021

2. Game Changed

Although Blake Christian and Crazzy Steve entered the semifinals having had vastly different quarterfinal bouts opposite KC Navarro and Tre LaMar, respectively, the pair had one hell of a match with one another. It's key to note that Blake had no time for Steve's monkey-related shenanigans, so he's already faring better than Tre LaMar.

From an in-ring standpoint? Wow.

'The Gamechanger' is monikered that for good reason. He literally changes the game each and every time he enters the ring. Here, he displayed a slightly more dangerous repertoire compared to his quarterfinals arsenal, which included a 450 splash to Steve's back while he was draped across the ropes. It's a type of spot we've seen in the past, but rarely does it include such a manoeuvre as a 450 splash. Blake is genuinely a one of a kind talent.

When the original tournament field was announced, you just knew Blake Christian had to be in the final two. He lives and breathes X division. You always hear about these independent upstarts who are taking the Internet Wrestling Community by storm, but until you see them doing their thing on a big platform, you never realise how great they truly are. This was that moment for 'All Heart' Blake.

As much credit as he deserves for this great match, we shouldn't be taking anything away from Crazzy Steve either. The former World Tag Team Champion never gets the recognition he deserves, despite putting in constantly decent matches. This was beautiful to look at.
