4 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night’s WWE Backstage (Nov 13)

2. Gabriel Iglesias Cuts A Promo

The internet tells me that Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias is an American comedian and actor best known for his shows ‘I’m not Fat…I’m Fluffy’ and ‘Hot & Fluffy’.

As part of some b*llocks celebs-cut-a-promo crossover, Iglesias cut a confident, smooth, WWE TV-ready promo.

Unfortunately, WWE promos are dreadful.

Iglesias, fronting to Samoa Joe, reeled off a load of useless facts and aimed a few fat jokes in Joe’s direction. Hopefully, Vince McMahon doesn’t watch the show, because between the bland delivery and flawless line reads, he’ll get a WrestleMania programme.

Even as I wrote this, I couldn’t care. It’s a guy I’ve never heard of doing some schtick I’m not interested in as a fan of pro wrestling watching something that is almost germane to it.

It’s nothing to get annoyed over. It’s something to switch over from, and again, it speaks to a wider point: what is this show for?
