4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 17)

3. You’re Beating Nobody

WWE's handling of Shayna Baszler has been nothing short of disgraceful since she jumped to SmackDown. Arguably, they were screwing her career up before that on Raw, but at least she was featured weekly. On Fridays? Not so much, and that's why one lands in the 'Downs' section.

It means nothing that Raquel Rodriguez beat Shayna to qualify for MITB.

Baszler has been booked like a joke for too long now, so this was a miss. It's worth pointing out that WWE's writers clearly don't really know what to do with Raquel. She's been spinning her wheels ever since that spirited match vs. Ronda Rousey that came out of nowhere.

Another three minute match, Lacey Evans sort of blurring lines between heel and babyface on guest commentary, the ongoing rubbish with Shotzi and Aliyah. Nah, this was crap, and it was every bit as wasted as the tag-team segment.
