Benefit of the doubt.

That's what this writer is prepared to give WWE when it comes to one Madcap Moss. The old joke-telling, braces-wearing gimmick is gone, and Moss is trying out something more serious on SmackDown. That deserves time, especially when the midcard scene is so bereft of engaging babyfaces right now.

Madcap's return was just one of the newsworthy items WWE booked on Friday - others included Drew McIntyre setting up a big time pay-per-view main event for later in the year and Ronda Rousey's first major challenger being revealed. Bad news on the last one though, because creative picked the most boring wrestler imaginable.

On the plus side, Riddle continued his ascent towards headline status, and the show peaked with a hot tag-team main event that must be considered essential viewing. If you like tag wrasslin', then this was a love letter to you; put it that way.

Here's all the good and bad from WWE's final stop before Hell In A Cell. The fact that show wasn't mentioned until this intro's final line perhaps says everything about that...
