4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 3)

Ups...

4. Madcap’s Fire

Social media is a microcosm of negative thought, so it's no surprise that most comments about Madcap Moss' return on SmackDown were critical. "Bland", "Uninspiring" and "Boring" were some of the words your writer spotted in relation to his repackaged black trunks and boots look.

Fair enough, but no-one can accurately claim that Moss didn't bring the thunder on this week's show. He looked right up for it, and laid it in when he was beating the sh*t out of Happy Corbin. Though it is worrying that fans greeted his comeback promo with the dreaded "WHAT?!" chants, Moss does deserve time to get things right.

Besides, going back to basics is a good thing for him. It's 100% better than still rocking 'dem braces or deploying pranks so lame they'd even make babyface Doink The Clown palm his grease-painted forehead. This, and the 'No Holds Barred' blowoff to his feud with Corbs at HIAC, is a step in the right direction for Moss.

He'll be fine if he can build on this post-braces performance.
