4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 22)

3. The Perfect Debut

It still wasn't SmackDown's best.

Hit Row take that trophy home. Sure, their material is cheesier than cheddar and everyone could do without Michael Cole checking thesaurus.com for adjectives, but their SmackDown intro was well-produced. Every member got some mic time, then they squashed some local jobbers.

The best thing about this short entry point was that Hit Row never outstayed their welcome. They also all came across as stars right out of the gate - compare this to the meagre amount of screen time others (like Ridge Holland and Aliyah) got and it's night and day.

Fans didn't pop like they were seeing the second coming here or anything, but Hit Row's first showing didn't play before silence. That'll be encouraging to those who matter behind the scenes, and it should give the group a fighting chance to become SmackDown stalwarts.
