4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 22)

Ups...

4. Reinforcing Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre calling out the entire SmackDown locker room is exactly the kind of thing an alpha male looking to make his mark would do. This wasn't out-of-character for the Scotsman either; he's been a fighter since those WWE Title days on Raw, and he does a neat job of staying babyface even when arrogantly stomping around.

Sami Zayn was the right opponent for Drew too. Beating someone so delusional and so easy-to-dislike represented a strong start for McIntyre on Fridays. A few more of these and he'll be ready to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title once WWE powers past Survivor Series.

Drew even got to reinforce his workhorse mindset by making light of SmackDown's promo-heavy open. He pointed out that the show was almost 40 minutes deep before fans got to see any actual wrestling, and that made him look like a man of the people.

Big well done to everyone involved for this re-debut.
