4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Superstar Spectacle

Ups...

4. Simple, But Effective

Roman Reigns Paul Heyman

One gets the feeling that Roman Reigns could sneeze gold at this point.

He and 'Special Council' Paul Heyman achieved more in 60 seconds than most double acts can in 60 minutes. Their short-but-sweet promo at Superstar Spectacle also helped push Roman's delusional character further towards iconic status, and the pair did it without breaking sweat.

Reigns kicked things off by saying he personally looks out for every WWE star, not just those who work on SmackDown every Friday evening. So, the Universal Champ said, he'd be keeping a close eye on the promotion's worldwide operations and ensuring that he could help put food on everyone's table going forwards.

Heyman then took over and, in trademark smarmy fashion, wished everyone in India a happy Republic Day. This was so simple, and yet so, so effective. WWE made the right call to have Reigns and Paul E appear in a pre-tape here.
