4 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jan 20)

5. Moxley Labours Past Comoroto

Jon Moxley Nick Comoroto
AEW

Nick Comoroto is a good wrestler with a unique look and somebody AEW should absolutely look at developing, given his Dark form, but the big man had no business pushing former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley so close on Dynamite.

Jim Ross explained that Comoroto was the only man willing to step up and face Mox last night. That's fine, but the guy is 0-7. He's an enhancement talent. Moxley, meanwhile, is the kayfabe first or second-best wrestler in the company. He shouldn't be made to struggle against these guys.

A sleeper hold eventually ended Comoroto's night after controlling extended periods against Mox. If the goal was to elevate Nick, it should have been against a lesser-ranked opponent. Moxley gained nothing other than a number in his W column here and would have benefitted more from facing an enhancement talent AEW weren't afraid of squashing.
