4 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jan 20)

3. Moxley Cuts Through

Jon Moxley

The match with Nick Comoroto didn't get much done, but at least Jon Moxley cut a typically good promo afterwards.

The former world Champion said he was having trouble keeping track of who was in Bullet Club, Impact Wrestling, and everything else, dissing Kenny Omega for bringing his "little frat brothers from Nashville to watch his back." Bad move. All Omega had done was make it more fun, more interesting, for Mox, who relishes the idea of having bigger brawls, more blood to spill, more violence, and more limbs to snap. The bigger the mountain, the more he's into it, and it doesn't matter who Kenny brings: all roads in wrestling lead through Mox.

Moxley's spirit and defiance were much-needed on this misfiring show. While this wasn't the kind of hypermagnetic promo he'll cut as a feud starts peaking, his fire cut through the chaff. Let's see if he can right the World Title storyline's course over the coming weeks.
