4 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 11)

Downs...

6. Dropping Down The Ladder

Lee Moriarty Hook
AEW

AEW presented Lee Moriarty as a young star who learned a thing or two despite coming up short against World Champ supremo Jon Moxley. That's fine, but they then immediately had him challenge "any champion" on Rampage, and the whole thing came across as a bit desperate.

Then, Hook randomly walked into frame.

Wouldn't it be nice to have some proper context and purpose for these title challenges rather than just exposing that they're random, one-off matches? That isn't really storytelling - it's just a constant merry-go-round of one-off matches for the sake of it, and it barely even makes champions look strong either.

Is Tony Khan for real? Moriarty can go from challenging Mox (without any momentum) and losing to...dropping all the way down the championship ladder towards the unofficial FTW belt? That's hardly doing much for The Firm member's career.
