4 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 11)

Ups...

4. Appreciate The Competitive Spirit

Brian Cage Dante Martin
AEW

Granted, Brian Cage vs. Dante Martin had a pesky pic-in-pic ad break of its own (not many matches escape that fate on this weekly), but the pair still managed to put on one of the show's better bouts. Seeing Cage win a decent little back-and-forth was way better than a 90-second squash would've been.

Martin got to do some flying, Cage got his main power stuff in, and then big Bri advanced in the World Title Eliminator. It's hard to argue with this kind of match when both workers get to look good and there's a clear stylistic difference between them. That gives the announcers something to talk about, which is great.

Solid stuff all over.

Cage has looked like a man with something to prove since returning to the AEW mix. Here's hoping that continues, because he defo got lost in the shuffle a bit towards the end of the Team Taz run. This is a step up from that sort of fare.
