4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Hell In A Cell 2021

Downs…

6. Missing Another Gear

Not every Hell in a Cell match should be 100 KPH straight ahead brutal violence, but the cell match between Bayley and Bianca Belair was lacking in the kind of intensity you’d expect in this sort of bout.

Sure, Bayley and Bianca tried a more methodical approach, building slowly to a climax with Belair overcoming the Rose Plant on a ladder to put the former champ down. But it really felt more like a slow march from one spot or series of spots: using a chair, using the steps, using kendo sticks, using a chair again, and finally using a ladder.

It really is a shame to rate this as a “down”: Bayley and Bianca are class acts, perfectly capable of delivering a PPV classic. But this just felt like it didn’t need the cell. If it had been a straight wrestling match – or even a no-DQ bout without the cell – it would’ve been better.

But as a HIAC match, this didn’t do it.
