4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Hell In A Cell 2021

3. Blatant Lying

We all know one of the announcers’ more important jobs (in theory) is to sell viewers on storylines and various angles. So we’ve come to expect a stretching of the truth.

But the announcers just went all-in on some pretty blatant lies when talking about the women’s tag team division and potential challengers Dana Brooke & Mandy Rose. In the span of two minutes, the announcers talked about how the “tag division is heating up” (despite breaking up nearly every functional tag team by releasing wrestlers the past two months), that Mandy & Dana were “making the case” for a tag title match, and that we’ve “seen that success from Dana and Mandy.”

*Ahem*

Let’s just be clear: Mandy and Dana have won exactly two tag team matches in eight months. The two matches? They defeated Naomi and Lana (who was released) in March and last month. Otherwise, they’ve been human punching bags in the women’s division, a joke of sorts as a pair of blonde bombshells who can’t get it done in the ring under any circumstance.

But hey, the announcers told us they were “making the case” for a tag title match… even as Mandy lost to Natalya in the kickoff show match. Wrestling fans might be gullible at times, but we’re not outright stupid.
