4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE NXT WarGames 2021

4. Skewed Psychology

Typically, WarGames matches work best when the babyfaces are at a numbers disadvantage and have to fight from underneath until the end. For some reason (maybe to differentiate it from the other cage bout?), WWE flipped that reliable format and gave the faces that constant leverage.

Bit of a wasted opportunity, that.

Fans fell quiet when Kay Lee Ray and Cora Jade were double-teaming Dakota Kai during the early stages of the women's match. Then, they didn't seem to know how to react when Gigi Dolin evened the odds and helped out her heel partner for the night. That odd presentation continued for the bulk of this 30-minute melee.

This didn't completely wreck the match or anything, but it did hold these women back from a psychological standpoint. It's baffling that WWE didn't think to give Toxic Attraction, who use the numbers game weekly, the edge throughout.
