4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (29 Jun - Results & Review)

3. One Positive For Rollins/Reigns

WWE Raw Roman Reigns Seth Rollins
WWE

Regardless of personal feelings about Roman Reigns versus Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, these are two of WWE’s biggest stars, who have not tangled too often in the past – just two singles matches in the past nine years.

Throw in the plethora of personal connections between them, the multiple world titles and WrestleMania main events, and you’ve got an actual real feud here. Selling it as a final opportunity for the OTC to beat Rollins on a big stage is an interesting angle, but it also fits with Seth being a master manipulator in trying to entice Roman to take the bait.

There is a fair amount of history post-Shield between Rollins and Reigns, which Seth traced Monday night (WrestleManias 31, 40, and 41) and will likely call up again to get under the World Heavyweight Champion’s skin. Rollins also never lost that title; he was forced to vacate it last fall after getting injured.

So, regardless of personal feelings, this feud on paper has several elements in its favor. Maybe the next few weeks will make believers out of more fans.
