4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (3 July - Review)

4. Drama With The Bloodline… Er, Judgment Day

The Judgment Day is one of the best things about Raw these days, and the internal strife storyline being told right now between Finn Balor and Damian Priest isn’t a bad one, but…

This is the second stable in the company to be going through an internal implosion at the same time, with the Bloodline disintegrating before our eyes. Damian Priest might emerge a bigger star from this, and we might be giving positive marks to this story every week forward. But for this week, just on the heels of the Bloodline Civil War, seeing Finn and Damian yelling at each other after costing each other opportunities at Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship was a bit repetitive.

Worse, Rollins’ new world title is playing a supporting role to Judgment Day drama. Seth escaped with his title intact both times, but the focus Monday night was on Balor and Priest, not the world champion. That’s rarely a good sign when your world champion and his title are props in a different angle.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
