4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 24)

2. Give Us A Reason To Care

Monday’s duelling interview with Becky Lynch and Doudrop was too little, too late, and it did more to expose the shortcomings of this feud than to sell it.

Lynch interrupted Doudrop from the jump to put herself over by saying she got her opponent into the Raw Women’s Championship match and was owed a “thank you.” She kept up the bravado until Doudrop claimed that the champ is just desperate to keep her title. The challenge then feigned falling asleep or being bored by Lynch’s rambling, walked out on the interview, and showed up in Becky’s room to attack her.

Question: Who’s the babyface here? Who should we cheer? Lynch clearly is supposed to be the villain, at least that’s what months of WWE’s scripting has been pushing. But Doudrop has been a heel the whole time too, and she hasn’t really given fans a reason to care about her as anything – neither face nor heel. She has no character, no personality, no depth whatsoever.
