4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 24)

3. Rhymes With ‘Grit’ And ‘It’

Edge is a very boring man

Uggh.

Really, that’s about all you can say about the “main event” segment of Raw Monday night, which saw Miz bestow several birthday gifts on Maryse before Edge and Beth Phoenix did their expected interruption and destruction of the set, complete with the decimation of nameless security guards.

Miz and Maryse barked orders to the guards, who got picked off one at a time like in a Jackie Chan movie, just with far less cool moves – though Beth and Edge hitting a Hart Attack and 3D was pretty decent.

The segment was a big wet fart for this feud, which had some potential going in but has underperformed at best and been a downright disappointment at worst. At this stage, we’re just hoping for a decent match to salvage the tail end of this, because the “build” has not built anticipation in any way.
