4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 22)

Downs...

6. Shanky?!

Shanky Ricochet
WWE

Right, what the f*ck?

Shanky has never won a televised singles match in WWE, but he's getting an Intercontinental Title shot anyway. Huh? Also, what's the point in teasing friction between Jinder Mahal and his big mate? Mahal was hardly a prime candidate for the challenger role himself.

This is all just so small time that it's already crushing Ricochet's title reign. He's gone from feuding with a tag-team (Los Lotharios) to...feuding with a tag-team. Worse, none of the four were ever credible enough as singles to have a realistic chance of taking the belt from Rico.

Shanky, bless him, is probably the worst wrestler WWE could've picked to face Ricochet. He doesn't win matches, was working comedy rap segments a while back, and nobody takes him seriously as an IC Title threat.
