4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 29)

1. Lack Of Universal Title Focus

Braun Strowman
WWE

Speaking of guys who looked foolish, it's Braun Strowman!

The reigning Universal Champion only briefly appeared during an interview with Kayla Braxton on the scene of the Elias/Jeff Hardy drama. Braun said he "arrived at work" to see a car spinning out of control into the music man. However, he didn't go on to do anything else of note on the show.

That means Strowman, who is SmackDown's top champion, "arrived at work" to do exactly nothing. WWE should've thought of that, and they should've had something else lined up for Braun. It wouldn't have taken much for him to say he was there to find The Miz and John Morrison (y'know, his opponents on the next pay-per-view).

That handicap match at Backlash is already flimsy enough, and it could do with some actual build and drama of its own. Reducing Braun to playing bystander in the opening segment and then giving him bugger all else to do is unforgivably poor.
