4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (30 March - Results & Review)

2. Speed Versus Power

WWE Raw Iyo Sky Raquel Rodriguez
WWE

Ever since Rhiyo lost the Women’s Tag Team Championships and Rhea Ripley headed over to SmackDown to feud with Jade Cargill, Iyo Sky has felt downgraded on the women’s roster.

And while one match certainly isn’t going to put her right back at the top of the card, her fight with Raquel Rodriguez served as a reminder of how good Iyo is, and how a well-balanced battle between a power wrestler and an aerial speedster can produce an entertaining match.

Sky started out trying to use her quickness to take Raquel off her feet, but Big Mami Cool overpowered her, which forced Iyo to use more of her skills to land a few blows on Rodriguez. However, Iyo’s fast-paced movement backfired when Raquel delivered a huge running boot. But Sky countered a running Liger Bomb with a hurricanrana into the ring post.

The action took a backseat to the Kabuki Warriors coming out, with Asuka wanting Kairi Sane to distract Iyo. That more or less worked, with Sky hitting a terrifying dive on Asuka but immediately being dropped by Raquel with a Tejana Bomb.

Good match, even with the outside shenanigans, and it sets up what could be a really good singles match if both women cut loose.
