4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (March 14)
6. Overdoing What Used To Be Special
Remember when Bianca Belair first hoisted Doudrop up across her shoulders and nailed the KOD? Holy hell, that was an incredible moment.
And then they called back to it two weeks ago as Belair was riding toward WrestleMania 38, lifting Doudrop up and finishing her off, much to Becky Lynch’s dismay.
So why not go back to the well again Monday night have them face off one more time in singles action? Why not have Bianca nail yet another KOD? What’s the worst that could happen? Wait, what are “diminishing returns”?
There’s no reason to do this match again like this other than WWE having a dearth of credible women on their roster, so they had to send Doudrop back out to lose to Belair again. They’ve now been in seven televised matches together this year, including Elimination Chamber, a gauntlet match, two tag matches, a triple threat and now two singles bouts. That’s entirely too much for less than three months.
And you know if and when Belair wins the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania, they’re going to want Doudrop to be one of her first opponents, but she’ll have just lost twice in the run-up to Mania. Brilliant move, WWE.
