4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (Nov 16)

5. The Feud Must Continue

When Elias originally targeted Jeff Hardy and referenced the car accident that injured him months ago, this writer praised the continuity of tying in that attack as part of a storyline.

But now, several weeks and no progress later, the fact that the two men are still feuding about something that hasn’t been resolved or even advanced in the slightest is aggravating. Hardy clearly was framed – most likely be Sheamus – but Elias continues to insist it was Jeff. Meanwhile, they’ve had multiple matches, with Hardy clearly winning the feud.

So why is it continuing? And what’s going to happen if Hardy proves his innocence? Is Elias going to suddenly apologize and go after Sheamus?

The truth is, neither man has anything else going on, so WWE feels like they need to keep them feuding with each other so they have something to do. It’s not about some long-term storytelling here – if it was, they wouldn’t have had so many matches right out of the gate. It’s just a space and time-filler for WWE. Lucky us.
