6. At Least The Tag Match Will Rule, Right?

There was a time when the very hint of a DIY/Imperium tag match would set the internet on fire, with fans eagerly anticipating the in-ring action.

That time, sadly, has passed. Although next week’s tag match will most likely be phenomenal, it’s not the mouth-watering contest that causes everyone to grow impatient. DIY’s reunion has been badly botched, with Johnny Gargano getting more muted responses every week and not getting the opportunity to showcase his talent in a meaningful way.

Monday’s match against Giovanni Vinci should have been a great chance for Johnny Wrestling, but it instead was mostly an angle masquerading as a match, with Tommaso Ciampa getting involved and chasing off Ludwig Kaiser, allowing Gargano to nail One Final Beat for the win.

DIY celebrated afterward, and the fans went… a bit more than mild. Can’t blame the crowd though when WWE has dedicated all of 90 seconds to explaining who they are and why they were so beloved in NXT.
