4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 7)

2. The Sheer Number Of Run-Ins

Of SmackDown's five matches, only one passed without incident and had a clean finish. The other four suffered the same, cheap-as-hell fate - Shorty G ran in on Matt Riddle vs. Sheamus, Sheamus then ran in on Jeff Hardy vs. 'King' Corbin, Riddle bolted in on Sheamus vs. Corbin and Mandy Rose broke up the main event tag.

Phew.

The only match that had anything resembling a clean finish was Cesaro vs. Lince Dorado, and that's the one that could've perhaps benefitted from a screwy ending so WWE could get to a tag title shot for Lucha House Party. Instead, Cesaro beat Lince Dorado with relative ease and their situation is now colder than anyone standing directly beneath the PC's 'Big Ass Fan'.

It was overkill to have four of five matches effectively end the same sort of way. Sure, they wanted to sell chaos, but anyone watching could see these conclusions coming a mile off.
