4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 7)

Ups...

4. Sheamus Gets Mad At Shorty

Enough ranting, because this week's SmackDown did have a near-handful of positives that acted as chinks of light for the show. One of them was Sheamus' response to Shorty G running in on his first ever clash with shoeless wonder Matt Riddle.

The Irishman thumped Shorty with a Brogue Kick and warned him never to do anything of the sort again, and that's precisely what he should've done. Chad Gable's interruption cost Sheamus the chance to get a momentum-boosting win - he also wouldn't give a rat's ass about 'King' Corbin's ransom, especially if it interrupted his affairs.

This was solid work all-round.

Heels don't normally attack other heels for this kind of thing, so it was a tad surprising to see Sheamus boot Shorty's teeth down his throat here. Long may this continue though. Sheamus should hate everyone, not just those who happen to be babyfaces.
