4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 19 - Review)

6. Picking Nits

Just to be clear here, Adam Pearce fired – and later retracted the termination – of Bobby Lashley last week for getting physical with WWE officials. But Monday night, the Bloodline attacked anything that moved backstage all they got was a stern warning.

Yes, these are two somewhat different things because the Bloodline basically runs WWE with Roman Reigns and the Usos holding major titles for more than a year each. But having these two storylines running concurrently is just bad storytelling.

You’ve got Pearce in the Lashley storyline exploding at him and having to pull it back, but then sitting there passively with the Bloodline and letting them cut an in-ring promo after they’ve wreaked havoc for the first hour of Raw. An errant spear and elbow gets a fiery “You’re fired!” from the WWE official, but this gets a “hurry up and finish your promo so we can escort you out of the arena.”

Instead of taking control like he did last week, Pearce was reduced to making matches after Raw superstars attacked the Bloodline and demanded retribution.

Nitpicking, yes, but don’t have these two stories running simultaneously if you don’t want critics comparing the two.
