4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 19 - Review)

4. Where Was KO Earlier?

Kevin Owens is great at just about everything he does. He manages to turn poor writing into something serviceable. Witness the entire Ezekiel storyline, which only got over due to Owens’ histrionics.

But even KO can’t save bad timing in storytelling. Monday night, the Bloodline was beating everyone up backstage at Roman Reigns’ direction as a way to strike back at Owens. KO had gotten involved in the Bloodline’s business, so Reigns was sending his charges to beat up Owens’ co-workers.

So where was Owens during this fracas? He was nowhere to be seen during the backstage attacks, nor when the Usos and Sami Zayn attacked the OC in the ring. But he finally walked out when the Usos assaulted Seth Rollins, setting up a tag match for later.

Was KO busy washing his beard? It betrays the character for Owens just to be absent for the first two hours while his mortal enemies are wreaking havoc on Raw in an effort to call him out.

Shouldn’t he have at least been seen once backstage hunting the Bloodline with a steel chair? At least that would have shown he was trying to intervene. Or say his flight was delayed and he was late getting to the arena. Give a reason – any reason – for the late save. Otherwise, Owens is a pretty crappy babyface.
