4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 19 - Review)

3. Worst. Ladder Match. Ever.

OK, that’s probably not an accurate statement, but there’s no polite way to categorize Miz and Dexter Lumis’ ladder match for double the money that was owed to the psycho.

The match was a dull, plodding affair that took aeons to get to a Bronson Reed debut to save Miz. Along the way, we saw slooooooow climbs, slooooow brawls on top of the ladder, and Johnny Gargano murdered on live television – at least, that’s the only way to explain how he disappeared for the last several minutes.

Reed’s debut also is a head-scratcher. If Miz retained him, then why didn’t he run out the several times Dexter nearly grabbed the money to finally make the save when he did? The answer obviously is, “That’s not how the match was booked,” but that ignores reality. If you’re going to do a run-in like that, maybe don’t make fans suffer through such a long, boring affair to get to that finish.

It would be tempting to suggest this marks the end of this interminable feud, but we’ll probably now get a tag match, where Gargano will eat the pinfall from Reed, because of course that’s how this will go.
