Downs…

8. New Day Again?

Look, this writer is a fan of the New Day, plain and simple. But seeing the duo get a Raw Tag Team Championship shot out of the blue seems a bit forced.

New Day had been embroiled in a rivalry with RETRIBUTION that had dragged on for weeks, but it appears that that feud has cooled off for now. So now they randomly will get a tag title match next week, thrust back to the top of the division. Actually, we should call it a “division.” Aside from the champs, New Day and RETRIBUTION, there are two other established tag teams (Lucha House Party and Miz & John Morrison), and possibly Elias & Jaxson Ryker.

But here’s the thing: Raw currently has a plethora of wrestlers sitting and doing nothing right now. Keith Lee, Ricochet, Andrade, Angel Garza, Humberto Carrillo, Riddick Moss and Tucker are literally doing nothing right now. They could have paired up a few of them and created at least two viable tag teams, given one a couple of wins and let them do something.

New Day is great, but you’ve got to try something different at some point. And this certainly isn’t something different.
