3. How Not To Squash

Whatever they’re trying to do with Karrion Kross fizzled dramatically when he squared off against Humberto Carrillo.

The match clearly was meant to be a squash of the hapless luchador, but it was a case study in how not to execute a squash. It was slow, plodding and featured just basic offense from a medium-sized guy. Kross grabbed five 2-counts during the match after such devastating moves as a clothesline, back elbow and a whip into the turnbuckle. He paced around between moves and grunted.

It was just such an awful match, you have to imagine he was planning on a 90-second squash, and they told him at gorilla to go out there and kill four minutes or something. That’s the only plausible excuse, because otherwise, this showed that Kross really is all smoke and mirrors, because he looked less threatening than circa-2012 Zach Ryder.
