4 Ups & 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 30)

2. Doudrop Flop

It was bad enough last week when Doudrop went full Shorty G and decided to “own” the awful nickname a heel gave her, but then we saw her reinvention.

Gone was NXT UK’s Piper Niven, and in her place was Doudrop, gyrating to the ring to an electronic dance beat. If ever there was something that you could pinpoint as a Vince McMahon creation, it’s having a larger superstar dance and cavort about, jiggling for the fans and grinning the whole time.

Doudrop (ugh) is a more than competent wrestler, and if you wanted to make her a smiling babyface, that would be fine, but turning her into the 2021 version of Brodus Clay is just ridiculous. There was no good reason for that step, other than to make Vince laugh.

Oh, and instead of squashing Eva Marie in their big grudge match, Doudrop attacked her before the bell and laid her out, then counted her own pinfall like a moron. Then she announced herself as the winner once it was determined that Eva couldn’t compete (though she was able to sit up and complain 30 seconds later).

Just utter stupidity.
