4 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (2 Aug)
Ups...
4. Keith Lee Learns From His Mistakes
There was plenty wrong with Karrion Kross vs. Keith Lee II. A direct, lazy rematch from last week featuring two wrestlers who should both be in the midst of winning runs, featuring this impossibly bland presentation of the NXT Champion, who already feels like part of the furniture, this nonetheless brought just enough good stuff to finish on the positive side of the ledger.
But only just.
Lee and Kross actually told a story here. Big Keith proved that he had learned from last week's defence by countering out of the Saito Suplex then going one step further, keeping a cool head while locked in the Kross Jacket to break free from it as well. Powering to his feet, he put Kross to the floor, maintained his composure, and countered into the Spirit Bomb, undoing last week's loss.
WWE has 50/50'd the feud and it doesn't look like the company has a clue what it's doing with either man. Nonetheless, Lee revealed himself a smart, studious character by confronting and rectifying the areas he fell short in last week.
