4 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 15)

2. Lashley Being Groomed?

This column has not given Bobby Lashley his due overall, as he is one of the few repeated bright spots on Raw.

As United States Champion, Lashley has run through the opposition, winning the bulk of his matches, beating people up randomly, and looking dominant throughout it all. There have been a couple of missteps during this recent title run, but overall, he’s been booked better than 90% of the roster, which is saying something.

Most recently, Lashley has shown a ruthless streak and looked unstoppable, beating up Keith Lee and Riddle simultaneously (though that came after the two had fought in a touch match). It makes you wonder: Is Lashley being groomed for something more? There’s a shortage of credible challengers to face Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship, and while Bobby lost to him in June, this version of the All Mighty is very different.

So it’s possible that we could indeed see Lashley lose the title on Sunday (without getting pinned in the triple threat) and then set his sights on McIntyre and the WWE title. And if done right, that could be an interesting feud.
