4 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 18)

2. ‘Kill You Thursday Bobby’

Yep, that was the signoff line for the go-home interview between Goldberg and Bobby Lashley in advance of their grudge match at Crown Jewel.

Because, if you threaten murder and some cringe and think it’s too much, you might as well lean into it all the way, right? Even Lashley pointed out how absurd it was, noting that he’d be within his rights to go to the authorities for Goldberg threatening his life on TV.

Simply put, it’s a threat that he can’t possibly deliver at the PPV, so why talk about it? Threaten to put him down? Sure. Hurt him real bad? Realistic enough? Break him in half with spear after spear? Yep, we’d buy that.

But “kill you Thursday?” No one believes that’s a possibility, so who is going to buy into that match on that selling point? It doesn’t make Goldberg look tough, it makes him sound like a psychopath – and not an entertaining one.
