As announced after the opening segment of Smackdown, the main event pitted Dean Ambrose versus Luke Harper versus Dolph Ziggler versus The Miz. The winner would get a WWE World Championship match with AJ Styles in two weeks on Smackdown.

Harper started off the bout hot, using his power and agility to overtake his opponents. Harper is a really talented star, and it was nice to see him getting a chance to do his thing (and to not have it be against Kane). That led into typical exciting multi-man spot action, with Miz ending up as the first man eliminated (Ambrose pinned him with a roll-up). Harper followed when Dolph hit him with a Superkick and Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds.

That left the two babyfaces (both of whom have been beaten repeatedly over the past few months) to do battle. No clear aggressor emerged, but then The Miz came back to ringside. He was attacked by both men, but when he stopped Ambrose from getting back in the ring, that gave Dolph the opportunity to recover. He caught Ambrose with a Superkick and got the pin.

Yes, Dolph has no credibility right now, and yes, this next match is just a stopgap to kill some time before the Royal Rumble, but it was still a good one, and a great way to cap off Smackdown.
