4 Ups And 3 Downs From WWE NXT (Oct 21)
2. The Escobar Has Been Lowered
When the decision was made to keep Swerve and Escobar in each other's orbit but, this time, with the addition of Jake Atlas and Ashante "Thee" Adonis, the worry was that there was nothing to be accomplished here that we hadn't already seen with the numerous singles matches. Giving the faces the old jobber entrance didn't exactly do much to inspire a more positive outlook.
The now age-old NXT defence of 'well, at least the match will be good' holds true here, and between these 6 men there was too much talent in the ring not to deliver something entertaining but, honestly, taking a step back, this is probably a bad direction for the Cruiserweight belt.
And, by extension, both Santos and Swerve.
There are other opponents, there are other feuds, and simply showing us repeatedly that Santos can beat Swerve isn't helping either of them. I'm not sure what the Spanish for Groundhog Day is but it's applicable.
